Make sure you check me out in The Bullya short film directed by Evan Watson. In this film, I play an urban girl who just wants to see her best friend Jason finally stand up to the neighborhood bully. If you liked Friday or Boyz n the Hood, you’ll love this.

I’m super excited to be working on the upcoming web series Natty Hair Chronicles. Above is a still from the first minisode. I’m pictured with another supporting actress, Courtney Harris. The series is written, directed and produced by Jessica Cole. I had so much fun shooting and I can’t wait ‘til you guys see it when it debuts in June! Make sure you “Like” the show on Facebook for the latest! https://www.facebook.com/NattyHairChronicles

A clip of my performance as “It Girl” in the NYU grad film Dead Love (dir. Asantewaa Prempeh). You may remember this as the film where I die. Enjoy!

Video from my Eavesdropping performance 15000 BTU.

In Eavesdropping, Alexa Hoyer randomly collects conversations and exchanges overheard in subway cars across the city. These fleeting moments without context are transcribed into scripts and given to actors before they take the stage. The actors perform, interpret and improvise, weaving fragments of story into narratives of imaginary city life. Eavesdropping is a non-system of storytelling informed by chance and uncertainty.

This is one of four scenes performed by different pairs of actors at the {TEMP} art space in Soho in April. This clip features actors Melissa Jourdana Cole and Oscar Montoya.

Stills of each of the scenes in Eavesdropping. That’s me in the top right quadrant, just like Marcia Brady was #legendary

more performance art

I participated in a performance art piece called EAVESDROPPING by Alexa Hoyer at {TEMP} art space in Soho. http://nurtureart.org/?p=5823

Together with improv master guru Oscar Montoya, I performed in a scene that was a transcription of an actual conversation overheard on the New York City subway.

Why does Tilda Swinton get all of the credit for putting actors who do performance art on the map?? haha
